The river flows down to the sea,
and with it went my dreams
The waters carried my future,
my hope and all my schemes
Meandered around headlands,
and floated across bays
Slipped along at it's own pace,
not counting hours and days.
On each wavelet was a message,
drifting with the tide
The wishes of one who loves
you, on the ocean it did ride
Battling through the storms,
through grey and stormy seas
Knowing it has a place to go,
each wave nods and agrees
Until it finally makes it, across
the waters wide,
And messages sit there on the
beach, dumped by a salty tide
The earth then takes its arms,
then to mother natures breast
The birds take up natures call,
from every single nest
Until at last a heart echoes,
hearing the words it knows
And once more my darling, you
know how my love for you it grows.
The world is such a large place
when we are so far apart
But messages of love we both
do know, shared together
heart to heart.
